I AM STEPPING UP FOR HEALTH CARE IN PARRY SOUND!

We are excited to participate in this year’s Walk, Run, Pole event!
We are moving all May long —raising funds to help finish the $1.1 million surgical care upgrades at West Parry Sound Health Centre - our local hospital!
Did you know the provincial government does not fund vital healthcare equipment like mammography machines, surgical equipment and new technologies, emergency department equipment, and much more.
Supporting health care in Parry Sound is important to us because as new residents here, and with Jen working with the Foundation at the hospital, we see how challenging it can be for small rural areas like Parry Sound to have consistent access to advanced medical care. We were very blessed and possibly took this for granted in our many years living in the Niagara Region. And with Jacob walking for a living with Canada Post, the risk of injury is elevated and we know we want to be able to count on our local hospital. There are no walk-in clinics, Xray/Ultrasound services here. It all happens at the hospital here! Even our long term care, Hospice, physio and rehab clinic, medical imaging is all under one roof in the hospital.
So in May, we will be walking and cycling with our pal and best doggo Banjo to clock as many kms as we can and raise as much money as we can for our new local hospital and helping this year's project goal to upgrade the surgical suites including operating rooms.
We hope to invite as many of our family and friends up to visit this summer and check out our new community and demonstrate why having access to health care close to home matters to us.
If you’re able to support us with a donation, it would mean so much—for our team AND our local hospital.
Let’s keep care close to home. 💙
