The West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation supports your Parry Sound hospital by joining with donors to renovate and refurbish rooms and spaces, and to purchase and upgrade vital healthcare equipment like mammography machines, surgical equipment and new technologies, emergency department equipment, and much more. These costs are not covered by provincial healthcare funding.
The West Parry Sound Health Centre - your Parry Sound hospital - has embraced an innovative planning approach focused on integrating services. Navigating the challenges of being somewhat isolated from larger healthcare providers in southern and northern Ontario, WPSHC stands out as a uniquely integrated healthcare organization. WPSHC services include a full range of in-patient and out-patient programs in our 90-bed acute care hospital, Lakeland Long Term Care, six nursing stations that serve rural communities, and management of district ambulance services and ambulance and fire services dispatch.

In Ontario, government healthcare funding does not cover the costs of building renovations or refurbishment, or the purchase or upgrading of diagnostic or treatment equipment. At the West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation, we partner with healthcare professionals, patients, and local and seasonal residents, to raise the funds required to maintain and expand the highest possible calibre of healthcare for everyone in the region.
Our hospital serves a diverse population that swells from 21,000 to over 121,000 during peak summer months, delivering essential services that cater to the unique needs of our community.
