Moose FM Radiothon – Thank You for Making It a Record-Breaking Success!

On July 24, Kathy Jennings and Moose FM hosted our annual Radiothon in support of the West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation, and together, we experienced an extraordinary day of generosity.

Thanks to local businesses, individuals, and our incredible listeners, more than $102,985 was raised to support Phase I of the $1.1 million Surgical Suite Upgrade at your hospital in Parry Sound.

From heartfelt stories to inspiring live broadcasts, the Radiothon showcased the power of people coming together to support advanced health care. Every gift helps enhance our surgical spaces with modern equipment and technology, ensuring patients receive care close to home.

Walk Run Pole –  The 5KM Community Celebration Raised Over $66,000 for Surgical Care!

The 2025 Walk Run Pole is a month-long community event encouraging fitness and fundraising! It takes place throughout May and concludes with a  fun, accessible community celebration at the Stockey Centre in Parry Sound on June 1, 2025 at 11am.You Can Still Donate Here!

How it works

  • Virtual Participation: From May 1 to May 31, participants can track their physical activity whether walking, running, kayaking, swimming, or any other form of movement using apps like Strava or Fitbit, or by manually logging their efforts. The goal is to stay active and raise funds for your West Parry Sound Health Centre.

  • 5KM Community Celebration: On June 1, the community is invited to gather at the Stockey Centre for a 5K celebration event, bringing together participants to celebrate their collective fundriasing and fitness efforts.

  • Team Participation: Individuals can join as solo participants or form teams with family, friends, or workplace groups to encourage community engagement and collective fundraising.

Thank You Rotary Club of Parry Sound! Strikes Against Cancer, 3-Pitch Tournament

The Rotary Club of Parry Sound once again brought the community together at Kinsmen Park this June for the annual Strikes Against Cancer 3-Pitch Tournament.

Formerly known as the RACH (Rallying Against Cancer Hardcore) Tournament, this beloved event has carried on its legacy since being adopted by the Rotary Club in 2019, raising funds to support advanced cancer care close to home.

Proceeds from the 2025 tournament were donated to the West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation, helping ensure that patients in our region continue to receive vital cancer treatment and support without having to travel far from home.

Waubuno Shrine Club Memorial Golf Tournament 

The Waubuno Shrine Club Memorial Golf Tournament is a beloved annual tradition that brings the community together to support local health care.

Now in its 9th year, the tournament has become a cornerstone of community generosity, with hole sponsorships, support from Oviinbyrd Golf Club, and loyal contributions from local businesses driving its continued success.

The 2025 tournament marked its 9th year and proudly resulted in a $20,000 donation to the West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation. This generous contribution funded the purchase of a specialized patient transport stretcher, improving comfort and safety for patients during medical transfers.

Proceeds from the tournament are donated to the West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation, directly supporting the purchase of vital hospital equipment—including a specialized patient transport stretcher in 2025. Over the years, the Waubuno Shrine Club has contributed more than $112,000 to enhance patient care close to home.
