Since opening in 2005, our patient care rooms have met the care needs of our community. But after 17 years of service, our rooms are beginning to show their age. Our flooring surfaces are beginning to crack, creating a tripping hazard, our wall surfaces have survived daily wear from interacting with stretchers and wheelchairs, our blinds and televisions are reaching the end of their life and increased standards for infection control have rendered our privacy draperies unable to meet current standards.
Through the adopt-a-room program, donors are offered the opportunity to renew and refresh a private room ($10,000) or a semi-private room ($15,000) with the opportunity to name a room in recognition of the dedicated and generous support of your organization.
The West Parry Sound Health Centre is home to 18 semi-private rooms and 34 private rooms.Each room will receive new flooring, television, blinds, lighting, privacy drapery and any repairs needed to the ensuite washrooms. In addition, repairs to wall surfaces and a fresh coat of paint will be protected with acrylic panels to ensure they maintain their refreshed appearance.
As most of our current televisions are no longer working, being able to provide access to entertainment and news will enhance the patient experience, particularly for those who may be with us for an extended stay. Each patient room will provide comfort and the highest safety standards for all our patients, now and into the future.
